The Daniels School of Business at Purdue University champions hands-on learning and seeks to provide students valuable internship and job opportunities within the school. These roles, most of them paid, offer outside-the-classroom experience that builds upon coursework and adds essential skills to your skill set.

Current Daniels School of Business students: Find information below on academic opportunities, including positions as teaching assistants (TA), graders, and research assistants, and administrative employment opportunities.

Teaching assistants help with various classroom duties including providing review sessions, proctoring exams, assisting with office hours, and more. Graders assist the instructor of record with grading. Research assistants are typically paired with a faculty member and help with any number of research tasks, including gathering and working with data, translating hypotheses into testable models, and creating compelling tables and figures.

Teaching Assistant & Tutoring Opportunities

Business Online Programs is looking for Teaching Assistants and Tutors to support our various Online Economics & Management courses. These positions will be supporting Accounting, Business Analytics, Economics, Management, Marketing, Technology, Human Resources, and Global Supply Chain courses.

Teaching Assistants

  • Assists course instructors with various course duties including grading, office hours, synchronous sessions, discussion boards, Brightspace course functions, and other duties per the instructor’s request.
  • Position(s) will work approximately 10 hours per week.

Tutors

  • Hold office hours each week of class(es) to assist students with questions, assignments, course content, etc.
  • Communicate tutoring availability and contact information within the supported online course(s).
  • Meet with supervisor at least once a week.
  • Position(s) will work up to 5 hours per week depending on the number of courses being supported.

Requirements

  • Earned an A- of better in course(s) you will be supporting (Graduate Level)
  • Must be a current Purdue Student and have a minimum of a 3.0 CGPA
  • Must reside in the United States for the duration of course (for tax purposes)

Undergraduate Teaching Assistants (UGTAs)

Research Assistantships for Undergraduates (UGRAs)

The Daniels School's Purdue University Research Center in Economics (PURCE) hires a small number of Undergraduate Research Assistantship (UGRA) positions.

UGRA positions are paid and provide selected participants the opportunity to work in an engaging, supportive, and interactive learning environment. UGRAs will master the fundamentals of research design, as well as how to manage and analyze quantitative data with the UGRA mentor while simultaneously assisting faculty members with ongoing policy-related research tasks such as:

  • Building policy databases
  • Managing and preparing datasets in Stata
  • Translating hypotheses into testable models
  • Creating compelling tables and figures

A commitment of 10 work hours per week is expected for these UGRA paid positions. Work hours will include attending mandatory weekly in-person UGRA lunch meetings (lunch will be provided), and communicating regularly with the UGRA mentor on individual project progress. Due to the interactive nature of this program, in-person participation is required and UGRA program participants must be enrolled in on-campus courses at Purdue’s West Lafayette campus. 

The application for PURCE's 2025-2026 UGRA program closed June 30, 2025. All applicants will be notified via email of their invitation to participate as an UGRA or be placed on the UGRA waitlist starting on July 31.

VSEEL Research Assistants

The business school's Vernon Smith Experimental Economics Laboratory (VSEEL) provides research opportunities and experiences for undergraduate Purdue students. Assist with research in the experimental economics lab to gain valuable skills and insight into how modern economics and management experiments are run.

Administrative Positions

The Daniels School's Marketing and Communications team employs talented Purdue students who want real-world experience in graphic design, event planning and execution, website development, social media strategy, writing and editing, marketing and communications planning, and much more.

Ready to make an impact and sharpen your skills in a fast-paced, creative environment? We offer paid internships (10 hours/week) across several key areas in marketing and communications, where you’ll work on real projects that shape the future of our school and give you real-world experience.

We don't currently have any internship openings. Check back throughout the semester for your best chance at opportunities to join our team.

Through the Marketing Lab qualified students will have the opportunity to work on real-life projects providing solutions to companies’ marketing issues. Members of our team will not only be developing practical skills through working on projects with leading companies in the country, they also will be showcasing talents and knowledge in the field of marketing. Student employees of the Marketing Lab are paid an hourly wage for the work completed on their assigned project(s). Additional information about working with the Marketing Lab.

Available positions:

Digital marketing intern position

  • The positions will be developing digital marketing optimization by managing client website.
  • The role will expect optimizing websites to improve speed of the website and user UI/UX.
  • Knowledge in HTML is a must and understanding of JavaScript and CSS are desired.
  • You will also work on other possible deliverables that will support the project.
  • The project duration is expected to start August.
  • As a rough estimate, you will be spending 10-15 hours per week at $27/hr.
