Management Information Systems

The Management Information Systems (MIS) area at the Daniels School of Business focuses on improving business processing through gathering, collecting, storing, analyzing, and disseminating information for managerial decision making. Departmental areas of expertise include database systems, computer networks, information security and privacy, human computer interaction, knowledge management, evolutionary computation, intelligent systems, and e-commerce.

Our MIS area is renowned in the field of business analytics and information management, as evidenced by INFORMS awarding our BAIM programs the 2023 UPS George D. Smith Prize.

Centers

Management Information Systems at Purdue encourages students to take advantage of distinguished centers and initiatives. Students at every level can join impactful data analytics ecosystems that put classroom learning into practice.

Research

MIS faculty are researching topics such as database systems, computer networks, information security and privacy, human computer interaction, evolutionary computation, and more.
