Internal Case Competitions

The Center for Business Communication at the Mitch Daniels School of Business offers competition experiences in courses and outside of the classroom.

The center supports select case competitions. We work with faculty, staff, other centers, alumni, and corporate partners to implement those case competitions.

  • Featured: Big Ten Case Competition The Big Ten Case Competition brings students from all 18 Big Ten universities to Purdue to tackle a real-world case focused on the workplace environment. Participants gain hands-on problem-solving experience while connecting with peers from across the country, all hosted on Purdue’s West Lafayette campus.

External Case Competitions

The Center for Business Communication provides mentorship programs with alumni or faculty coaches to support teams participating in external case competitions.

Students can apply to participate in external competitions with other universities on the Pitch app. Selected competitions the center promotes in partnership with other universities and faculty are listed; offerings can vary year-by-year.

  • Featured: UT Austin McCombs National Women’s Case Competition The McCombs National Women’s Case Competition offers undergraduate student teams the opportunity to represent Purdue at a nationally recognized case competition in Austin, Texas.

Workshops and Coaching

The Center for Business Communication offers coaching and workshops to help novice and experienced teams navigate case experiences.

  • Featured: Case Competition 101 Workshop This workshop is presented by our student team and provides an opportunity to learn about what happens in a case competition and how students can get involved in our programs. Reach out to our team at buscasecomps@purdue.edu if you would like to schedule a workshop. Students are encouraged to attend other workshops, including Case Competitions 202, which focuses on preparing for case experiences.
