    It is hard to overstate the impact of America’s fentanyl epidemic. The synthetic opioid and its close chemical relatives were involved in about 70% of the country’s 110,000 overdose deaths in 2022. They are now almost certainly the biggest killer of Americans between the ages of 18 and 49.

    Three professors in the Mitchell E. Daniels, Jr. School of Business have been honored for their excellence in teaching. Winners were selected by a committee comprised of faculty, students, and teaching and learning staff.
  • Purdue University livestreams panels on COVID-19 supply chain disruptions and economic implications
    Professors in the Krannert School of Management and College of Agriculture at Purdue University participated in an hourlong panel discussion and Q&A on May 18 about the disruptions to supply chains caused by COVID-19 and implications for consumers. Earlier in May, three Krannert faculty affiliates from the Purdue University Research Center in Economics (PURCE) hosted a Facebook Live event on the economic implications of COVID-19.

    The COVID-19 pandemic has paused the United States economy and resulted in historic levels of unemployment, and it’s unclear how easily the light switch can be turned back on, say Purdue University economists who specialize in public policy and labor markets.

  • CBE Showcase
    Indiana students set to showcase classroom businesses at Purdue
    Local elementary students will showcase businesses they developed through a Purdue University program that promotes entrepreneurship in the classroom. The Classroom Business Enterprise showcase will take place from 10:30 a.m. to noon April 10 in the Krannert Building's Krannert Drawing Room. The event will feature businesses started by students and teachers from schools in Lafayette and Frankfort, Indiana.
