Dilip Chhajed serves as the Associate Dean for Master's and Online Programs and as the Executive Director of the BS in Integrated Business and Engineering program. He spearheads the development and management of all Masters and online programs at the Daniels School of Business. Currently, the portfolio of residential and online programs at DSB encompasses thirteen MBA/MS programs, and nine Graduate Certificates.
He was instrumental in the creation of the innovative and multidisciplinary IBE degree, which is offered in collaboration with the College of Engineering. This program embodies Daniels' renewed strategic vision to thrive at the convergence of business and technology.
Before joining Krannert, Dilip held the title of Professor of Information, Operations, Supply Chain, and Analytics at the Gies College of Business, University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. During his tenure at Illinois, he took on roles such as Associate Head and Executive Director of Master's Programs. In these capacities, he supervised four and was pivotal in the establishment of three new Master of Science programs: MS in Technology Management, MS in Management, and the fully online MS in Strategic Brand Communication, a collaborative offering with the College of Media.
Dilip obtained his PhD from Purdue University, an MS from UT-Dallas, and a B.Tech from IIT Bombay. He has had the privilege of teaching at the University of Warsaw in Poland, Sogang University in South Korea, Purdue University, and GISMA in Hanover, Germany. His current academic pursuits revolve around product design and healthcare operations. He holds the position of Associate Editor for Decision Sciences and has been a part of the editorial boards of INFOR, MS&OM, and the International Journal of Operations and Quantitative Management. Alongside Tim Lowe, he co-edited the book "Building Intuition: Insights from Basic Operations Management Models and Principles."
