AACSB extends its accreditation for Purdue’s Krannert School
Tuesday, April 24, 2018
The Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business (AACSB) has extended its accreditation in business for Purdue University’s Krannert School of Management. For over a century, AACSB Accreditation has been synonymous with the highest standards in business education, and has been earned by less than 5 percent of the world’s business schools.
Founded in 1916, AACSB is the longest-serving global accrediting body for business schools, and the largest business education network connecting students, educators, and businesses worldwide. Today, 810 institutions across 53 countries and territories have earned AACSB accreditation.
“AACSB congratulates the Krannert School in extending its accreditation,” said Stephanie M. Bryant, executive vice president and chief accreditation officer of AACSB. “The intense peer-review process confirms a school’s continued focus on excellence in all areas, including teaching, research, curricula development and student learning. The Krannert School’s dedication to delivering high-quality business education will create the next generation of great leaders.”
“The AACSB accreditation review process is rigorous and comprehensive,” said David Hummels, Krannert School dean and professor of economics. “AACSB holds schools to the highest standards in management education. One benefit is that in the course of the review you learn a dozen ways to improve on an already strong product.
“Few business schools earn the AACSB seal of approval. Students and employers know that at Purdue’s Krannert School they are getting the real thing.”
Achieving accreditation is a process of rigorous internal focus, engagement with an AACSB-assigned mentor and peer-reviewed evaluation. During this multi-year path, schools focus on developing and implementing a plan to align with AACSB’s accreditation standards. These standards require excellence in areas relating to strategic management and innovation; student, faculty, and staff as active participants; learning and teaching; and academic and professional engagement.
The Krannert School has been accredited by AACSB since 1967.
