Dr. Yuchen Liu joined the Daniels School of Business in 2024. She holds a Ph.D. in Strategic Communication and an M.S. in Journalism and Mass Communications, both from the University of Kansas. 

Throughout her academic career, Dr. Liu has taught a broad range of courses, including Strategic Business Writing, Writing for Strategic Communication, Principles of Public Relations, Principles of Advertising, Principles of Social Media, Research Methods in Strategic Communication, and Communication Campaigns. Her research focuses on the use and effects of social media in strategic communication, public relations, and international communication.

Her teaching and research are informed by her professional experience as a Web and Social Media Producer for Channel 6 News in Lawrence, Kansas. In that role, she managed the station’s social media platforms, developed online content, and helped maintain a strong digital presence. She also contributed to writing, editing, and producing newscasts, and played a key role in coordinating special event coverage.
