Kwei Tang is the Allison and Nancy Schleicher Chair of Management Emeritus and Visiting Professor in Quantitative Methods. His teaching and research interests include business analytics, data mining, quality management, and research methods. Prior to returning to Krannert in 2020, he served as University Chair Professor and Dean of College of Commerce at National Chengchi University, Taiwan. He has also served as Associate Dean for Academic Affairs and Associate Dean for Programs and Student Services at the Krannert School. Professor Tang received a B.S. from National Chiao Tung University of Taiwan, an M.S. from Bowling Green State University, and a Ph.D. in Management Science from Purdue University. He is a recipient of the 1988 Presidential Young Investigator Award from the National Science Foundation, the 1998 Distinguished Alumni Award from National Chiao Tung University, and the 2019 John S. Day Distinguished Alumni Academic Service Award from Purdue University. He also received the 2003 Salgo Noren Foundation Award for Excellence in Teaching, which is a recognition as the best teacher in the Master's programs at the Krannert School voted by students. Professor Tang is a Fellow of the Decision Sciences Institute, Senior Editor for Production and Operations Management, and the Founding President of the Taiwan Association of Business Schools.
