George Powers received his Bachelor's degree in Communications from Illinois State University. After finishing his undergraduate, Powers went onto receive his Masters of Business Administration from Lake Forest Graduate School of Management. In 1993, Powers began working for Schneider Electric, a French-based corporation that is a global specialist in Energy Management, as a Senior Compensation Analyst. Over the next several years, he progressed his career in various Human Resources roles located in Illinois, Kentucky and Wisconsin. In 1997, Powers was named the Director of Human Resources for the Sales and Services Division. In 2002 he moved to Toronto, Canada to lead the Human Resources organization for Schneider Electric Canada as V.P. Human Resources. In 2008 Powers was promoted to Senior Vice President Human Resources & Communications for Schneider Electric North America. During this time, he led several transformational business change initiatives, built a high performing executive leadership team and led significant Corporate Social Responsibility programs in alignment with Schneider Electric corporate values.

Powers is also one of the members of the HR Corporate Leadership Council at the Krannert School of Management, Purdue University.

Today, George Powers is the Senior Vice President of Global Human Resources for Schneider Electric’s Smart Infrastructure Division. In this position, Powers is leading the global integration of a $1b Software as a Service business, leading the reorganization & transformation of the business model and building a global human resource model to support operations in 25 countries.
