Dr. Yang Wang has held the position of Associate Department Head of Management in Teaching and Programs since August 2022, along with her role as a clinical assistant professor at the Daniels School of Business, Purdue University. Prior to this, she served as the co-Academic Director of the MS BAIM (Business Analytics & Information Management) program and as the Academic Director of the Online B.A. (Business Analytics) program. Dr. Wang was also the Chair of the MS BAIM Advisory Committee.

Since her arrival at DSB in 2017, Dr. Wang has adeptly instructed diverse courses at both the undergraduate and master’s levels. These courses encompass subjects such as Management Information Systems, Database Management, Management of Organizational Data, Python Programming, and Industry Practicums. Her teaching excellence has been acknowledged through multiple awards, including the prestigious Purdue University Teaching Academy Leadership Award and Krannert Outstanding and Distinguished Teacher Awards. In 2019, Dr. Wang received the Summer Teaching Innovation Award. Further attesting to her scholarly prowess, she was granted the Krannert Business Ethics Education and Research Grant in 2022 and 2023.

Dr. Wang's scholarly contributions extend into the realm of research, with her work on social media being published in top-tier business journals like Production and Operations Management. Her paper was honored with the Best Paper Award at the 11th China Summer Workshop on Information Management.

Prior to her tenure at Krannert, Dr. Wang obtained her Ph.D. in MIS from the University of Arizona in 2017, and earlier, in 2011, she obtained her M.S. in Economics from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign.
