To increase business school students’ awareness and interest in technologies that are likely to play a major role in their careers and lives, the Daniels School has launched a new speaker series featuring eminent Purdue faculty.
The Technology Landscape Speaker Series started late last month and hosts each Friday a university faculty member widely recognized for their subject matter expertise. The Daniels School’s Kelly Blanchard, Dean Bullard, and Matthew Lynall, a clinical professor of management and director, NSF I-Corps Hub, Great Lakes Region, are stewards of the series. Held in person on the West Lafayette campus, the talks aim to raise student’s awareness of the breadth and depth of current research at Purdue. Students are required to submit a 250-300 word reflection paper following each talk.
Karen Plaut, Purdue’s executive vice president for research; Luna Lu, Reilly Professor of Civil Engineering and the founder of WaveLogix; and Dharmendra Mishra, an associate professor of food science and director of Purdue’s Food Entrepreneurship and Manufacturing Institute, were the first three speakers. Speakers are planned for each week of the fall semester.
