The Mitch Daniels School of Business is bolstering its Academic Prowess pillar by recruiting leading faculty to teach in its programs, provide transformational student experiences, lead research centers, and form mutually beneficial industry partnerships.
These faculty are advancing business education through their rigorous research and expert thought leadership.

The Daniels School has also hired seven renowned academics through Purdue’s Moveable Dream Hires program, with an eighth Dream Hire set to join the school in spring 2027.
The program is designed to attract high-performing, top-caliber faculty to the university.
Judson Caskey
Professor of Accounting
Caskey’s work focuses on both empirical and modeling research in financial accounting, specifically on the role of accounting disclosures within the context of informed decision making. He holds the Gerald Lyle Rising Star professorship and is serving as interim head of the Accounting Department.
Martin Dufwenberg
Distinguished Professor of Economics
Dufwenberg uses game theory and experiments to incorporate insights from psychology into economic analysis. He has joined the Center for Behavioral Economics, Experiments and Public Policy’s board of directors.
Vineet Kumar
Professor of Marketing
The school’s most recent Dream Hire’s research sits at the intersection of digital business and artificial intelligence, particularly machine learning. Kumar is organizing a conference on AI and the customer interface, scheduled for fall 2027.
Gwendolyn Lee
Professor of Strategic Management
Lee is a leading scholar on firms’ strategies for competition, cooperation, innovation, and entrepreneurship. She has helped coordinate a Strategic Management Department speakers workshop series.
Lance Lochner
Professor of Economics
Lochner’s research focuses on some of our most consequential questions: How do people develop skills? What determines who has access to educational opportunities? How do investments in education affect economic mobility? He has joined the Purdue University Research Center in Economics (PURCE) as a faculty affiliate and is set to be the center’s economic policy luncheon speaker in December.
David Simchi-Levi
Susan Bulkeley Butler Distinguished Professor in Operations Management
Simchi-Levi launched the Data Science Center for Decision Making, which serves as a bridge between academia and industry to aid companies in transforming processes, driving automation, and enabling autonomy. He is a keynote speaker for and organizer of the inaugural Future of Supply Chain Executive Forum, jointly organized by Purdue University, the World Economic Forum, and Accenture, set for October 22 at the World Economic Forum in San Francisco.
Michael Weber
Professor of Finance
Weber is recognized as one of the most dynamic voices in macro-finance today. He is consistently sought out by top media outlets to provide analysis on inflation data, consumer sentiment, fuel surcharges, and more.
