Jana Day is a Lecturer in the Department of Organizational Behavior and Human Resource Management at the Mitch Daniels School of Business, where she also serves as Assistant Director of the Hayes Leadership Coaching Institute (HLCI) in the Center for Working Well.

Jana brings a career built at the intersection of talent, leadership, and coaching to the classroom and to her work with students. She holds a master’s degree in Management, Leadership, and Organizational Development and is a Professional Certified Coach (PCC) through the International Coaching Federation.

Before coming to Purdue, Jana spent 25+ years leading recruiting for Sony Pictures Animation, DreamWorks Animation, Warner Bros., Big Idea Productions, and Nickelodeon Animation, where she staffed the teams behind more than 30 films and television shows, such as Spider-Man: Into the Spiderverse, Hotel Transylvania, Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs, VeggieTales, Animaniacs, SpongeBob, Baby Shark, and The Prince of Egypt. That experience, paired with her ongoing work as an executive coach serving career and leadership coaching clients through her own practice, gives her a grounded, real-world lens on what students need to succeed after graduation. Her areas of expertise include career coaching, talent acquisition, leadership development, and organizational behavior.

Jana joined HLCI's program management team, where she helped build the operational backbone of the Institute's student coaching program, and continues to manage coach relationships and partner with the leadership team on the program's growth. She now serves as Assistant Director.
