A Mitch Daniels School of Business digital transformation and information technology expert is the recipient of a 2025 INFORMS Information Systems Society (ISS) Practical Impacts Award.

At the Conference on Information Systems and Technology ceremony in late October, Mohammad Rahman accepted the award, which honors distinguished academics who have demonstrated influential leadership and impact on information systems practice.

Rahman says he is humbled to be the first from Purdue University to join this group of scholars.

“Business school research is often criticized for lack of translational impact,” he says. “The past awardees of this prestigious award are the exceptions and have had significant impact on practice.”

Rahman is the inaugural Daniels School Chair in Management and a Professor of Management in the school’s Management Information Systems Department. He is the academic director of Purdue’s Master of Business Technology (MBT) program and co-academic director of the master’s program in Business Analytics and Information Management.

“One of the mandates for the relaunched Purdue Daniels School of Business is to have translational impact. I hope this recognition inspires other faculty and PhD students to make translational impact a priority in their research pursuit,” Rahman says.
