$5,000 prize awarded in Fall 2025 Development Case Competition

Darren Bateman, Rohan Menon, and Charles McGuckin were the winners of this semester’s Dean V. White Real Estate Development Case Competition, outperforming 11 other teams in the competition. They will share a $5,000 scholarship for their proposed mixed-use development along North Meridian in Indianapolis.

“I learned a lot about the research needed to create an attractive, yet realistic product for the market,” says team member Charles McGuckin. “I have learned in classes and internships about the level of detail needed for a development, but it was a whole different experience actually pursuing that detail and making the property the best we could.”

Their project, North Meridian Village, included multifamily housing, retail stores, and a medical office building. The property was designed to provide a work-life style balance with plenty of green space and easy access to retail and office services. Thank you to our judges this semester: Beau Pahud, Shannon Hunt, Lacey Willard, Pat Jarboe, and Gary Schroeder.
