Nicholas Guevara, Braden Denny, and Jack Erickson won the Spring 2025 Dean V. White Real Estate Development Case Competition held May 1, 2025 at Purdue. The team of three beat out 10 other student teams to win the $5,000 prize.

“This semester’s competition challenged us to pitch a mixed-use development proposal on Mass Ave in Indianapolis to a panel of potential limited partners,” says team member Nicholas Guevara. “It was an incredible opportunity to apply what we’ve learned in a real-world context – and a great way to cap off my senior year at Purdue.”

The judges for the finals were Beau Pahud, Brian Shelbourne, and Samuel Burns, who noted the winning team stood out with its analytical approach to development. Antone Najem of Third Street Ventures helped write this semester’s competition prompt. He also helped judge a preliminary round of presentations along with Jack Weatherwax to provide initial feedback and select 4 finalists.
