Dr. Pang is a faculty member in Supply Chain and Operations Management (SCOM) and a Purdue University Faculty Scholar. He is also the faculty coordinator for the SCOM discipline within the Management PhD Program in the Business School.
Research: His current research interest focues on theories and methodologies of Statistical Learning and Decision Sciences with appliations in mechanism design, healthcare delivery, supply chain and logistics, cloud computing, renewable energy and circular economy, and financial risk management, and pricing and revenue management. He serves as senior editor for Production and Operations Management , associate editor for IISE Transactions, and co-editor of Journal of Blockchain Research.
Perspective PhD Students: I am looking for highly motivated and self-driven PhD students with solid Mathematics and Statistics background and strong research interests in Statistical Learning and Decision Sciences.
Teaching: He teaches Operations Management, Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Strategic Sourcing and Procurement Operations Analytics, and Supply Chain and Operations Analytics Consulting. He was named as an Experiential Education Champion for 2023-2024. To facilitate experiential learning, he formed partnerships with many world-leading corporations and created real-world projects as course projects in the class, which integrated classroom learning and corporate project based experiential learning and allow students to be exposed to the real world challenges and apply what they learn in the class to the real world problems.
Industry Engagement: He has rich industry experience as entrepreneur and management consultant. Since he joined Purdue, he has formed research and experiential learning partnerships with many corporations including Dow Chemical, Corteva and Wabash. He as served the board of directors for China Titans Energy Technology Group Co., Ltd. from 2015-2023. He was also named as one of Purdue Innovation and Entrepreneurship Fellows from 2021-2025.
