Kristin Deckard Dawson

Director, Undergraduate Student Engagement & CareerBound

Kristin is a double Boilermaker. She holds a BS from Consumer Family Sciences in Retail Management and an MS in Education in the College Student Personal program from Purdue University. She has more than 18 years of higher education experience in teaching, advising, and administration roles. Kristin has spent most of those years as a lecturer and advisor, assisting students with their academic course path and guiding them toward their next big career journey. Before joining the Daniels School's Business Career Services team, Kristin was the program manager for the school's MSF and MSHRM graduate programs. She is now the Director of Undergraduate Student Engagement & CareerBound. As employer needs and demands grow, this position will assist and empower Daniels School of Business students with resources and professional skills so that they are career-ready the first day on the job.   

Kristin’s key responsibilities: 

  • Collaborate with faculty, advising, and alumni relations to manage the CareerBound program with the ultimate goal of ensuring Daniels School of Business students are career-ready upon graduation
  • Effectively communicate the mission and vision of CareerBound to secure the support of campus and school stakeholders, as well as the students in the school 
  • Track and manage data of those students that participate in the CareerBound initiative to ensure the program is meeting goals and objectives  
  • Recruit, train, and develop a team to assist with CareerBound and additional undergraduate student engagement initiatives.
