Leading with Humility, Purpose and an AI-Specific Compass

09-25-2025

Have your legal, ethical and moral compass ready for the use of AI in your career, Prasad Satyavolu tells today’s college students, tomorrow’s business leaders. The managing director of Accenture Industry X sat down with Daniels School strategic management Lecturer Dave Randich as part of the Daniels School’s Executive Forum. The Executive Forum is one of the most popular classes offered at Purdue and brings guest speakers to campus each week to share their career insights and experiences with students.

Satyavolu leads the manufacturing and automation capability for Accenture’s Industry X practice in the Americas and is the global lead for physical AI across all functional and industry sectors. Accenture Industry X is a consulting practice that digitally transforms companies by embedding AI, cloud computing, IoT, robotics, digital twins and more to help businesses work smarter, faster and more sustainably.

Randich asked Satyavolu to forecast out five to 10 years, “which is a million years in AI life,” Randich noted. What should students expect going out into the work world, relative to AI?

“It is here to stay,” Satyavolu said. Step one, he said, is to make sure you know how to use AI.

Drawing upon his more than three-decade career, Satyavolu discussed with Randich before a live audience the importance of challenging presumptions, having a sense of humility and purpose, company values and more. He also answered questions. View Satyavolu’s Executive Forum:
