The Daniels School’s Dr. Samuel R. Allen Dean is a former longtime member of the Federal Open Market Committee (FOMC) who is now able to comment on the 12-member board’s actions and statements. The committee reviews economic and financial conditions, determines the appropriate stance of monetary policy, and assesses the risks to its long-run goals of price stability and sustainable economic growth, and next meets September 17-18.
Jim Bullard will provide analysis on the FOMC this Thursday during a fireside chat hosted by the Weidenbaum Center on the Economy, Government, and Public Policy at Washington University in St. Louis. He and Andrew Reeves, director of the Weidenbaum Center, will discuss current economic conditions, the outcome of the FOMC and more.

Bullard will also comment on the FOMC on CNBC’s Squawk on the Street at 10 a.m. Eastern on September 18.
In his 15 years as the sitting president and chief executive officer of the Federal Reserve Bank of St. Louis, Bullard earned significant praise and accolades for his leadership and innovative thinking as part of the FOMC in guiding the direction of U.S. monetary policy.
The FOMC next meets November 6-7.
