Purdue Business Clubs Build Leaders

How Purdue business clubs turn students into industry-ready professionals

03-10-2026

If you’re a high school student thinking about studying business, college isn’t just about classes; it’s about finding your people and discovering what you enjoy. At Purdue, business clubs give students a fun way to explore different interests, from marketing and finance to entrepreneurship and consulting. You get to meet new friends, work on projects together, attend events and try new things. Along the way, you build skills and confidence, but just as importantly, you figure out what excites you and where you want to grow.

Business Analytics and Information Management Association is for Business Analytics and Information Management (BAIM) students, by BAIM students. We strive to help students learn essential BAIM skills in a low-stress environment with a community eager to grow professionally and technically. This is done through hosting weekly events, company visits, corporate projects and a town hall at the end of every academic year.

We further support skill development through hands-on workshops that introduce technical platforms and their use in industry, as well as professional skills such as interview preparation and job-search strategies. Ultimately, the balance between creating a supportive community and learning practical BAIM skills gives students the experience they need to excel in and out of the classroom.

At the Brock-Wilson Center, you will immediately step into an environment where women grow personally and professionally through community, mentorship and skill‑building experiences. The center’s impact is amplified by hosting workshops, facilitating networking opportunities, running the Women in Business Learning Community and its Leadership Development Program, and encouraging members to participate in growth opportunities around the School of Business. By fostering confidence, promoting leadership readiness and providing a supportive peer network, our organization ensures that students not only access these resources but also feel equipped to apply them. Together, we are helping women step into leadership roles with clarity, capability, and conviction.

The Daniels School of Business Council

The Daniels School of Business Council is the bridge between students, faculty and administration, dedicated to enhancing the student experience and ensuring every student is seen, heard and supported from day one. We strive to develop not only the members of our council but the entire Daniels School student body by fostering leadership, encouraging collaboration and creating opportunities for meaningful involvement.

One of our signature initiatives, the annual town hall, gives students the opportunity to provide direct feedback to the deans and school leadership. More importantly, we take that feedback seriously — working alongside administrators to turn student insights into real improvements each year.

We also host the Daniels School College Welcome during Boiler Gold Rush, introducing incoming students to the resources, opportunities and community that will support them throughout their time at Purdue. From their very first days on campus, we are committed to helping students feel connected, confident and ready to succeed.

Through advocacy, engagement and action, the Daniels School of Business Council is dedicated to building a responsive and forward-thinking business community where every student has the opportunity to thrive.

Doster Leadership Conference

The Doster Leadership Conference (DLC) is a student-run, student-funded annual conference at the Daniels School of Business, celebrating over 20 years of inspiring leaders in honor of the late Barbara Doster, a decorated academic advisor whose legacy continues to shape student development. DLC stands out because of its board of 15 high-achieving students, who are dedicated not only to honoring Doster’s legacy but also to innovating each year to meet the changing needs of the business world.

Through interactive workshops, keynote speakers, team-building activities and networking with corporate representatives and alumni, participants develop essential skills like communication, collaboration, decision-making and strategic thinking. The conference also offers practical experiences, including mentoring and career-focused sessions, giving students opportunities to apply their learning in real-world contexts.

Our board works tirelessly throughout the year to ensure every detail of the conference is executed seamlessly. We secure corporate sponsors, coordinate breakout sessions, manage logistics and oversee all aspects of planning to create a professional, high-impact experience. The conference provides underclassman attendees with hands-on opportunities to practice leadership, networking skills and much more, which gives them practical skills they can carry forward. Together, DLC and our board cultivate confident, capable leaders who are prepared to make a meaningful impact both on campus and in their future careers.

First Gen Business Boilers is more than a club; it’s a launchpad for students who are the first in their families to navigate college and the business world. We are building a community where students gain the confidence, resources and network they may not have walked in with. Through mentorship pairings, professional development workshops, employer connections and conversations about navigating internships, interviews and academics, we turn uncertainty into opportunity.

Newly founded in the past year, our organization was created to bridge the gap between potential and access. What makes us different is our commitment to both professional growth and personal belonging. We create a space where students feel comfortable asking questions, developing practical skills and seeing themselves as future leaders. Our goal is to ensure every first-generation student feels empowered to belong, succeed and thrive at Purdue and beyond.

Project Management

Project Management

Project Management at Purdue is a student-run organization that emphasizes and develops the necessary technical and interpersonal skills required in today's professional environment. Through company-based semester-long project sprints and professional development workshops, members gain practical exposure to various project management methodologies and collaborate in teams. Students also have the opportunity to step into a project manager or product manager role where they will lead a team of associates or manage the project managers, oversee timelines and deliverables, coordinate and facilitate meetings with their team and industry professionals, and navigate real-world challenges.

Our club emphasizes growth and excellence in communication and presentation skills. Each project culminates in a formal presentation delivered to judges composed of Purdue professors and industry professionals from the Project Management Institute of Central Indiana (PMICI). These presentations strengthen our members’ ability to clearly communicate their findings and analyses, defend their strategic decisions and respond effectively to questions.

Project Management at Purdue not only equips students with the technical skills needed to manage projects, but also to lead efficiently and effectively.

The School of Business Career Council (SBCC)

The School of Business Career Council (SBCC) is the driving force behind the Daniels School Career Fair, the largest opportunity for our students to connect directly with employers. But we are not just hosting a fair. We are building a launchpad for careers.

Everything we do is centered around one goal: creating real opportunities and meaningful skill development for students. We intentionally recruit top companies, build strong employer relationships and design touchpoints that help students move from a handshake to an interview, and from an interview to an offer.

The impact is real. Each year, hundreds of students secure internships and full-time roles because of connections made at our fair. We create access. We simplify the process. We help make the job search feel strategic instead of overwhelming.

Behind the scenes, our members operate like a professional event management and talent acquisition team. They gain hands-on experience in logistics, employer relations, marketing and leadership while proudly representing the Daniels School of Business.

SBCC is more than an event planning organization. We are helping students step confidently into their careers.

Society of Women in Integrated Business and Engineering (SWIBE)

At the Purdue Student Managed Investment Fund, we eliminate the gap between textbook theory and real experience. We manage a six-figure fund of alumni donations, meaning our decisions have real-world consequences. This isn't a simulation or a hobby club; it is a professional-grade laboratory for high-stakes asset management and equity research.

Students grow by taking full ownership of the investment lifecycle — from conducting deep-dive fundamental research to defending valuations before a board. We push members to master the technical rigor required by top-tier financial institutions, but the real growth happens in accountability. You learn to filter noise, manage risk and stand by your convictions in front of peers.

What makes us different is our culture of high expectations. We aren't just preparing students for internships; we are operating as a cohesive investment fund where the goal is consistent outperformance. By generating returns, we ensure that our pursuit of excellence serves a tangible purpose. We provide the tools, the capital and the platform. Our members provide the results.

At the end of the day, Purdue business clubs are more than meetings on a calendar; they’re where ideas spark, friendships form and futures start to take shape. You’ll try new things, meet people who share your drive and gain real-world skills without even realizing you’re building your resume. It’s fun, it’s hands-on and it’s where your business journey truly begins.
