Course Descriptions

International Management - MGMT 459

This course addresses the strategic challenges faced by firms in the global economy, with particular attention to the European Union and Spanish business environments. Students will examine motivations for internationalization, foreign market entry strategies, global industry analysis, and the development of competitive advantage in international markets. Special emphasis is placed on the influence of culture, national institutions, and regional integration in shaping business outcomes. The course also considers how firms respond to global risks, design organizational structures for multinational operations, and balance the competing demands of local adaptation and global integration. By engaging with both United States and European perspectives, students will gain a comparative understanding of international management practices and the determinants of global business success.

Cultural Competency - MGMT 390

The MGMT 390 cultural competency course is taught by a local professor and will allow students to be fully immersed in a business course with a specific focus on the host city.

Both courses are supplemented with cultural activities, excursions, and company visits.
