MIS Programs

The Management Information Systems (MIS) area at Purdue University is designed to produce world-class scholars who can bring their technical and analytical expertise to the fields of economics, management, politics, and more. With information technology playing an even greater role across organizations and industry, our MIS programs allow students to learn from renowned faculty and scholars, empowering them to transform the field of information science.

We build upon program curricula by offering undergraduates and master's students valuable student employment opportunities at the Daniels School as research assistants, teaching assistants, and more.

For undergraduate students, the MIS area offers a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Analytics and Information Management through the business school. Students pursuing this degree learn to use data and analytics to solve complex business problems. Zhiwei Zhu Is the academic director of our undergraduate program in Business Analytics and Information Management.

Master's

Purdue’s Master of Science degree in Business Analytics and Information Management (MSBAIM) teaches cutting-edge data analysis techniques. Through 36 credit hours of rigorous, STEM-focused coursework, students develop skills in applications such as Python, SQL, R, Hadoop, and more, all of which are instrumental to success in the technology-driven field of MIS. Mohammad Rahman and  Gary Mercado Velasco are academic directors of our master’s program in Business Analytics and Information Management.

Master of Business Technology

Our Master of Business and Technology (MBT) program is designed to go beyond the traditional boundaries of business education, providing a holistic understanding of the business-technology nexus. You’ll master technical skills aligned with emerging technological trends and develop the capacity to assess the viability, feasibility and desirability of business models. You’ll know how to optimize existing models and ideate new ones. Mohammad Rahman is the academic director of our master of business technology.

Online Master's

The online Master of Science in Business Analytics (MSBA) program guides students through 30 credit hours of coursework in analytical techniques and technical application training. Fully online, the MSBA program gives students the freedom to learn from renowned faculty and complete rigorous curriculum in a remote environment. Mohammad Rahman and  Gary Mercado Velasco are coacademic directors of our master's program in Business Analytics and Information Management.

The PhD program in MIS trains students to recognize and restructure problems within the field of information science. Students build expertise in analytical methodologies within areas such as economics and computer science, diving into research that will transform the MIS area.
