There are ample student job opportunities on-campus where almost all students can find employment. Some notable ones are Marketing Lab opportunities, teaching assistant/graduate assistant positions, marketing for the Purdue Research Foundation, Technical Assistance Program projects and working in a dining hall or the campus recreation center.
Marketing Consulting Project is a required course where you might be paired with an off-campus organization. You may actively engage with the client to apply classroom knowledge to real-world applications. The program offers the opportunity to bridge the gap between classroom theory and practice, preparing students for success in their future careers and personal lives.
The program offers students the option to graduate in 10 months or 18 months with summer internship experience. The 10-month option would be for students who already have extended work experience while the 18-month option would be for students who would like to gain an industry level experience before graduation.
The program offers a rolling admission, so we encourage students to apply when ready. However, please note that international deadline for applicants living outside of U.S. is March 1 and the final deadline is June 1 of each year.
Having prior industry experience is a plus in both classroom experience and in career building. With industry experience students can often hit the ground running, requiring less training and onboarding time. Specialized industry skills and knowledge also attract employers who are looking to minimize the training costs of employees.
The program addresses all marketing areas with a focus on analytics. We also boast that our curriculum is the most up-to-date with industry trends compared to peer programs. In 2018, we were the first to integrate data visualizations in marketing courses, and first introduced analytics as part of social media marketing in 2019. We also introduced coursework on cloud computing in 2022 and data and AI-driven marketing in 2023.
