As executive director of the Daniels School’s Marketing and Communications team, Sue leads a talented group of marketing, branding, creative, and communications professionals. Her specialties include brand strategy and planning, strategic media planning and buying, and visionary leadership. Sue works closely with school and university leaders to position the Daniels School as a top 10 business school.
A Boilermaker through and through, Sue earned her communications degree at Purdue and was active in Alpha Delta Pi and the Grand Prix Foundation. Today, she volunteers for the Purdue Panhellenic Association and is an executive board member for the Purdue Alpha Delta Pi Alumnae Association.
As the director of marketing technology, insights, and automation for the Mitch Daniels School of Business, Dan Gaines leads the school's Salesforce, Marketing Cloud, and integrated technologies for marketing and recruiting functions. He also leads the team dedicated to marketing analytics, automation, and research initiatives. Prior to his current role, he managed all aspects of marketing for the school's portfolio of graduate programs including residential and online products. Dan has served in escalating levels of marketing leadership within the school since 2015 and has more than 20 years of experience in marketing. His previous employers include the U.S. Olympics, Pacers Sports & Entertainment, and the Texas A&M University System.
In his free time, Dan enjoys writing, mentoring, coaching, exploring faith, and spending time with family and friends.
In her role Shannon leads enrollment marketing and communications strategies for the residential master’s and PhD programs. Additionally, she directs content marketing strategies across the school and pioneers marketing operations. Shannon combines her proficiency in leveraging data to inform decisions with her passion for breaking down silos and creating space for cross-team collaboration to develop imaginative solutions to organizational challenges.
Shannon is a two-time graduate of West Virginia University. When she’s not singing “Take Me Home, Country Roads,” you can find her cuddling with her cats, listening to podcasts, playing video games with her husband, or traveling to visit her family.
Kris joined the staff at the business school in 2007 and oversees the external website of the school as well as all web analytics. He has been with Purdue since 2001, and served as the web technical specialist for Purdue Marketing Communications. Kris is a graduate of the organizational leadership undergraduate program in the College of Technology and the Weekend MBA program at the business school.
Kris has a strong interest in bringing games and game mechanics to business operations to increase engagement, often referred to as gamification.
Tim oversees alumni relations and special events, and assists with publications, website content and media relations activities. He has been with Purdue since 1989, serving as the director of communications for the Purdue Alumni Association and as an editor for the Purdue News Service.
In addition to his duties at the Daniels School, Tim is also the play-by-play announcer for Purdue football and women's basketball on the Learfield Purdue Sports Network.
Zach is the Daniels School’s multimedia video specialist. He tells the stories of our students, faculty, alumni, staff, and supporters through digital media and graphic design, producing feature-length videos, shorts, and more. Zach has experience in broadcast television and non-profit communications, and has worked on Emmy Award-winning shows.
He earned a degree in telecommunications digital video production at Ball State. Zach joined Purdue’s business school in 2022. He is an amateur juggler.

Nicole is a writer and editor on the Marketing and Communications team, creating content for prospective and current students including website copy, email communications, brochures, flyers, and whatever else is needed. Nicole can’t believe she gets paid to collaborate with the Daniels School’s marketing strategists, graphic designers and web developers to bring stories to life, and to fix comma usage.
Prior to joining the business school in 2014, Nicole worked in communications at Florida State University and Indiana University, and as a beat reporter and features editor at newspapers in Indiana and Illinois. In her downtime she enjoys binge-watching well-written dramas, bowling, baking, and traveling.
Morgan leads undergraduate marketing and enrollment strategy for the Daniels School of Business, focusing on digital engagement and brand storytelling. She collaborates with the MarCom creative team to showcase the Daniels School’s impact, drawing on her experience in higher education social media marketing. Morgan is passionate about building communities, enhancing student experiences, and crafting compelling narratives that connect with audiences.
Morgan is a graduate of IUPUI (now IU Indy) and has built her career in higher education. She loves listening to Crime Junkie podcasts, rewatching her favorite sitcoms, and spending the weekends listening to live music.
As the administrative assistant for the MarCom team, Marian specializes in event logistics and budget tracking. She works behind the scenes to ensure everything runs smoothly. Marian has been at the business school since 2016, and started her career at Purdue in the Department of Statistics at the College of Science in 2012.
Shawn Dildine is the creative manager for the Marketing and Communications team at the Mitch Daniels School of Business. By applying his extensive design background and eye for precision and consistency, he leads the development of print, digital, video, and photographic assets, driving the school’s brand identity and creative vision forward. His work ensures alignment with Purdue University’s master brand while infusing fresh, innovative energy into each project.
In addition to ensuring the school's image aligns with Purdue University's master brand, he enjoys all things coffee, which fuels his creativity, and also enjoys spending time with his wife and their three children, who he hopes will become future Boilermakers.
Tiffany McConnell is a graphic designer for the Daniels School of Business at Purdue University. She brings the school’s priorities and values to life in a visual way, adhering to best-in-class design standards. She is responsible for all design and ordering for the business school including print, digital, social, self-service templates, and promotional items. In addition, she is the administrator of the Daniels School of Business' Photoshelter account, managing photo assets, creating templates, and training/adding new users.
Anne leads enrollment marketing, strategy and communications for several of the Daniels School’s online graduate programs and Executive Education, among others. She works closely with the MarCom creative team to tell the story of the Daniels School in new ways, leveraging her background as a creative strategist and writer in both corporate and agency settings. As a marketing leader, Anne’s passions lie in creating communities, fostering relationships and elevating great work.
Anne is a graduate of the Purdue College of Liberal Arts (BA, English & Creative Writing) and Vanderbilt University (MFA, Creative Writing). She loves spending time with her family, baking, listening to podcasts, and following women’s basketball.
Eric is a website communication specialist for the Marketing and Communications team at the Mitch Danies School of Business. In this role, he maintains the school’s home page, news feed, and events queue, among other responsibilities. He also writes, edits, and publishes a variety of website and e-newsletter content, including features, profiles, press releases and research stories. Eric earned a bachelor’s degree in English and Rhetoric from Wabash College and received a master’s degree in communication from Ohio University.
Maria Weir is a content specialist for the Marketing and Communications team at the Mitch Daniels School of Business. She creates content and strategies to set apart the Daniels School, telling compelling stories, distilling research concepts into thought-leadership articles, and inspiring prospective students to become Business Boilermakers. In this role, she co-manages, writes and edits for Daniels Insights, the Purdue Business Journal, the grad and undergrad blogs as well writing website copy, e-newsletters, email journeys, ad and social media copy, and research articles. Maria earned her bachelor’s degree in English from Purdue University's School of Liberal Arts and an MFA in Creative Non-Fiction from Chatham University.
Maria is a member of ACES Society for Editors. She co-presented on mentoring emerging writers at the 2024 ACES Society for Editors Conference. Additionally, she co-presented with Shannon Hess "From Zero to Published" on starting a blog in record time at the 2025 CASE District V Conference.
James Cox is the Salesforce administrator for the Marketing and Communications team at the Mitch Daniels School of Business. With great care, James ensures that our Salesforce CRM platform runs seamlessly, optimizing its capabilities to support our vision for marketing and prospective student engagement. His dedication to accuracy and efficiency is instrumental in our business operations. Outside the world of Salesforce, James enjoys woodworking, improv comedy, and engaging with other Salesforce professionals, embodying Purdue's values of inclusion, innovation and growth both in and out of the office.
Sophie (Eun-Hye) Lee, an alumna of the Mitchell E. Daniels, Jr. School of Business, hails from South Korea, bringing a diverse international perspective to her role as a marketing and communications specialist. With a BS in Management (Marketing) and a Graduate Certification in Business Analytics from the Daniels School, she assists in crafting analytics-driven marketing strategies and conducting in-depth data analysis. Her previous employers include Hana Tour, Tritonesoft Inc., and Walt Disney World Resort. In her free time, Sophie enjoys cooking, taking walks, and trying different local restaurants.
Kelsey Smith is a seasoned Marketing Cloud administrator now part of the Marketing and Communications team at the Mitch Daniels School of Business, where she brings her expertise to the forefront of digital communications. With a passion for precision and an eye for detail, Kelsey plays a pivotal role in managing email communications. She collaborates closely with the Salesforce team, seamlessly integrating marketing strategies and data-driven insights to optimize outreach efforts.
Kelsey lives in Denver, Colorado. When not immersed in the dynamic world of marketing technology, she enjoys reading, watching college basketball, traveling, hiking, and spending time with her husband and two children.
Summer Zhao serves as an Associate Director of Marketing overseeing several key master's programs: MSBAIM, MS Finance, MS Global Supply Chain Management, MS Human Resource Management, MS Marketing, the One-Year MBA, and the Online MBA. She earned her bachelor's degree in Business Administration from UC Berkeley.
Summer is deeply passionate about her volunteer work. She mentors international students at Purdue through the Acts 2 Fellowship International organization, providing guidance and support to both undergraduate and graduate students from diverse backgrounds. In her role, Summer offers career coaching, nurtures students' spiritual well-being, and helps them adapt to their new environment while navigating the academic landscape.
Caleb Honegger is a designer and developer for the Daniels School of Business at Purdue University. A Purdue grad and Boilermaker since 2014, his priorities are the elevation and accessibility of all external website content for the Business School and keeping the website modern, focused, easy to understand, and freely accessible to viewers of all backgrounds. Caleb designs the bi-annual Purdue Business Journal and sets the visual standards for designers across the Daniels School webspace.
He enjoys cycling, reading, and creating ambient music, and lives in Indianapolis with his dog Rufus and wife Anna.
Xavier Watson is a user experience designer and developer for the Daniels School of Business at Purdue University. He has an interdisciplinary academic research background and holds degrees from the University of Kentucky and Indiana University. At the Daniels School, Xavier primarily works on design and development projects for the external website of the school. Through his work, Xavier's goal is to craft an accessible and human-centered digital landscape for the Daniels School community.
