New Independent Study Course Connects Students with Real-World Analytics Projects

The Krenicki Center for Business Analytics & Machine Learning is excited to launch DSB 49000: Krenicki Center Independent Study, a credit-bearing experiential learning course that gives students the opportunity to work directly with industry and community partners on real analytics and AI projects.

Through semester-long, team-based engagements, students apply data analytics, machine learning, and artificial intelligence tools to solve real challenges while gaining valuable experience. Projects span industries such as manufacturing, logistics, consumer products, healthcare, and nonprofit organizations.

What Students Gain

By joining our team, you’ll gain hands-on experience, develop technical and professional skills, and showcase your expertise in analytics. Applications are accepted on a rolling basis, and student consulting teams are formed based on each partner's project needs.

  • Proficiency in handling large-scale data using tools like R or Python
  • Knowledge of machine learning algorithms
  • Available to dedicate 10-15 hours per week to assigned projects
