Strategic Management Seminar Speaker Series featuring Gwendolyn Lee
Gwendolyn (Gwen) Lee is the Chester C. Holloway Professor in Strategy, Innovation & Entrepreneurship at the University of Florida, Warrington College of Business Administration. She obtained a Ph.D. from the University of California at Berkeley (Management of Technology Fellow), and M.S. and B.S. degrees from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (Burchard Scholar). Her research interests are strategic management, industry evolution/disruption, organizational adaptation, value creation/appropriation/ innovation, and digital platforms. As an example, her recent article on Exploration, Exploitation, and Mode of Market Entry builds on her prior research on technological convergence and compares the acquisition strategies of Alphabet and Amazon, analyzing how successful disruptors become tech giants. Gwen has published numerous research articles with managerial impact in leading academic journals, including the Academy of Management Journal, Academy of Management Review, Organization Science, Strategy Science, and Strategic Management Journal. For decades, she has contributed to the Academy of Management Journal, Academy of Management Review, Journal of Management, Organization Science, Strategic Management Journal, and Strategy Science through her roles serving as an editorial review board member, special issue co-editor, or senior editor. She has also contributed to the Academy of Management, INFORMS, and Strategic Management Society through various leadership roles.
