Who’s Remembering to Buy the Eggs? The Meaning, Measurement, and Implications of Invisible Family Load

Dr. Julie Holliday Wayne will explore the implications of ‘invisible family load’ for employee health & well-being, job attitudes, and family-to-work spillover.

Though the idea of ‘invisible work’ in families has been discussed many times, this 2024 Kanter Award winning research, draws on five different studies to conceptualize and operationalize “invisible family load”, and it provides a new, robust, and well-validated measure of that work.
