Next Steps To Becoming a Boilermaker

Welcome to Purdue!

We’re excited you are joining us in the persistent pursuit of your next giant leap.

Your next steps are critical to secure your spot in the upcoming cohort and the proud Boilermaker community.

Please read the official admissions notification you received from the Purdue University Office of the Vice Provost for Graduate Students and Post Doctoral Scholars. You will need to satisfy all the conditions listed to secure your place in the upcoming cohort.

Create Your Career Account

*Current Purdue students do not need to create a new career account*

You will be sent an email from gradinfo@purdue.edu that will contain your initial account setup PIN within five business days of viewing your admission email from the Office of the Vice Provost for Graduate Students and Post Doctoral Scholars. (Please check your spam or junk email folder if you don’t receive a message from the gradinfo@purdue.edu account.)

Your official Purdue University Identification Number (PUID) and your temporary PIN will be in the email. Use it and your PUID to activate your career account. The system will prompt you to create a new PIN in order to verify the process.

We don't want you to miss anything that will be sent to your @purdue.edu email.  Make sure you activate your Office365 account and configure your email to Purdue Office 365 Email.  Although forwarding your @purdue.edu to a personal email may be convenient, it will impact your ability to participate and receive critical information.

BoilerKey, Purdue's version of two-factor authentication improves the security of protected computer systems and personal data.  You will use this password to access myPurdue and our learning management system Brightspace.

Orientation

To help ensure that your transition is a successful one, the Graduate Program staff hosts an online prework session and an in-residence orientation program to assist you. These programs are held in advance of the first day of the semester and are at no cost to students. This is a mandatory event and all graduate students are expected to attend.

The goal of the orientation is to provide all graduate students with the following three objectives:

  1. 1. Prepare students for class
  2. 2. Acclimate students to Purdue and the Daniels School of Business
  3. 3. Build Community

This goal is accomplished through two phases:

  1. 1. Online on-boarding orientation via Brightspace
  2. 2. Residential orientation

By participating in your orientation program, you will have an opportunity to meet, network, and build relationships with other graduate students, learn about various resources available to you, refine your leadership skills, and get a head start on your career search.

The Graduate Program staff looks forward to meeting you at orientation and assisting you with your transition to campus!
