The Dauch Center is the focal point within the Mitchell E. Daniels, Jr. School of Business for promoting education, research, and industrial engagement with those interested in operations and manufacturing management. With a strong history of engaging with Indiana manufacturers and successful student projects that have made positive impacts for SMEs across the state, the Dauch Center continues to pioneer new approaches for manufacturing, supply chain, and digital transformation within the business school.
The Dauch Center has partnered with Purdue University in its recent launch of the national eXcellence in Manufacturing and Operations Initiative (XMO). With this partnership and the leadership of Dauch’s Director Dr. Stephan Biller, we are helping Purdue strengthen its position in XMO becoming the leading academic institution for industry and government in manufacturing and operations.
XMO hosted a national summit on November 7, 2023, at the National Academies of Science, Engineering, and Medicine in Washington, D.C. This event brought together industry, government, and academic leaders to discuss building resilient U.S. infrastructure for advanced manufacturing and operations. Summit speakers included Purdue University President Mung Chiang; Dr. Victoria Coleman, Chief Scientist for the U.S. Air Force; Todd Young, Senator from the State of Indiana, and a variety of national education and business leaders.
