BOP '16 prepares to launch their careers next May

An incredibly successful BOP cohort, BOP '16, is on pace for a five-year graduation rate of 89%. Furthermore, students from the cohort received some of the best full-time career opportunities among all graduating seniors in the School of Management. Read about those career opportunities below:

Janelle Davis (West Lafayette, Indiana) will head to Dallas, Texas upon graduation to work as a Commercial Banking Analyst at J.P. Morgan Chase. The former Society of Minority Managers (SMM) President interned last summer with J.P. Morgan Chase and completed two previous internships with PwC in their Chicago and New York City offices. Currently, Janelle volunteers with the Management Ambassadors student organization, which assists the School of Management with the recruitment of undergraduate students. Last spring, the Barbara Cook chapter of Mortar Board selected Janelle as one of the top 40 rising seniors on campus due to her superior scholarship, dedicated service to the University community, and outstanding and constant leadership.

Nathan Ebikwo (Carmel, Indiana) will be an incoming Operations Program Manager at Microsoft in Seattle, Washington. The Supply Chain, Information, and Analytics major interned with top companies during his tenure at Purdue including GE (Cincinnati), Roche (Indianapolis), and Amazon (Richmond, VA). Nathan maintains a solid grade point average while working in the Krannert Professional Development Center, in addition to serving in the School of Management Employers Forum student organization. When Nathan met Darren Henry during his senior year of high school, he initially rejected the idea of attending Purdue. Instead of participating in BOP, Nathan was going to play college football. Fortunately, he changed his mind and his decision to participate in BOP proved to be the best for his career to date.

Ivana Escobedo (Chicago, Illinois) is a true go-getter. During BOP '16, she noticed there were few women of color in the field of Supply Chain Management. Combining her interest in supply chain and the current trend, she aggressively pursued an internship opportunity beginning the first day of class and landed one with Rolls-Royce (Indianapolis) before the end of her first semester of college. The former Vice President of Professional Development for SMM later landed internships with brand name companies such as GE (Cincinnati) and Dell (Austin, TX) while gaining experience in Operations and Procurement. She also served as a campus ambassador for companies such as Zipcar, Amazon, and Google. In 2020, Ivana returned home to Chicago to begin her career as a consultant with Accenture.

Sidney Hyette (San Ramon, California) will begin his career within Information and Digital Solutions at Eli Lilly in Indianapolis, Indiana. While serving as the Vice President of Information Technology for SMM, Sidney implemented a cutting-edge tracking system used to monitor member activity and garner more involvement in SMM events. Over the last two summers, Sidney interned with KPMG in their Irvine, CA office within the Cyber practice. His major is Supply Chain, Information, and Analytics, with a concentration in Management Information Systems; he minored in Cybersecurity from the Purdue Polytechnic Institute. Sidney is a member of the Black Data Processing Associates (BDPA) and a Teaching Assistant for the Purdue Department of Computer Science. Currently, Sidney is studying to pass the exam for his CySA+ cybersecurity analyst certification.

Wesley Middleton (Carmel, Indiana) maintains a perfect 4.0 grade point average while triple-majoring in Accounting, Finance, and General Management. Wesley is a second-generation BOP student, as his father Kyle Middleton is also an alumnus of the program. Wesley interned with PwC (Indianapolis), experienced investment banking at Wells Fargo (New York City), and will return to LLR Partners in Philadelphia, PA for full-time employment as an incoming Private Equity Analyst. Like Nathan, Wesley also serves in the School of Management Employers Forum, and like Janelle, the Barbara Cook chapter of Mortar Board selected Wesley as one of the top 40 seniors on campus. Wesley is a great role model for younger BOP students and is the embodiment of BOP's focus on both academic and professional success.

Pedro Rostagno (West Lafayette, Indiana) was a high-ability student coming out of William Henry Harrison High School in West Lafayette. With Purdue University in his back yard, Pedro flirted with leaving his hometown for college. Fortunately, he chose to participate in BOP and through an alumni connection (Taylor Malloy, BOP '11) made during his freshman year, Pedro interned with Panduit (Tinley Park, IL) the summer after BOP '16. Since then, Pedro has interned with KPMG in their Chicago office as a Transfer Pricing intern. Pedro will return to the firm for full-time employment next summer. Pedro is a Finance major with a passion for sports, health, and fitness. While working hard in the classroom, Pedro also works at the France A. Cordova Recreational Sports Center (co-rec). Because of his work ethic, reliability, and maturity, the co-rec appointed Pedro as their top student employee for the current academic year.
