Anya Samek becomes second Krannert graduate to win Vernon L. Smith Ascending Scholar Prize
The International Foundation for Research in Experimental Economics (IFREE) has named Krannert alumna Anya Samek, associate professor of economics at the University of California San Diego’s Rady School of Management, as the 2020 recipient of the Vernon L. Smith Ascending Scholar Prize. Samek joins fellow Krannert alumnus Roman Sheremeta, an associate professor of economics at the Weatherhead School of Management at Case Western Reserve University, as two of the first four recipients of the Smith Prize. Purdue’s winter commencement ceremonies to be on-demand
Purdue University officials will produce on-demand commencement ceremonies for this December’s graduates. This will be the third set of on-demand commencement ceremonies the university has produced due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Purdue officials offered graduates on-demand commencements for spring and summer sessions this year. Candidates for graduation will receive commencement materials before the ceremony goes live in mid-December. More
Purdue Day of Giving raises record $42.2 million
Purdue Day of Giving has once again set a fundraising record. The 24-hour social media-based event – now in its seventh year – raised $42.2 million, topping last year’s $41.6 million and reaching a cumulative total of $189.1 million. From its $7.5 million total in 2014, Purdue Day of Giving has seen a rise in giving in every year since. More
Longtime MIS scholar and endowed faculty member Prabuddha De retires
Prabuddha De, the Accenture University Professor of Information Technology at Purdue University’s Krannert School of Management and a seminal scholar in his field, retired in August 2020. Krannert recruited DE in 2002 through an endowed faculty position. More
Krannert School launches two new online master’s degree programs
Purdue University’s Krannert School of Management will begin offering two new online master’s degree options in January 2021. The Master in Human Resource Management (HRM) and Master in Global Supply Chain Management (GSCM) each will be offered in seven-week segments, with students taking one or two classes at a time. Both programs are designed for working professionals with several years of experience. More

Krannert professor earns distinction as a POMS Fellow
Krannert Professor Annabelle Feng, Purdue’s John and Donna Krenicki Chair in Operations Management, was named a POMS (Productions and Operations Management Society) Fellow, the Society’s most prestigious lifetime honor.
