AI tool aims to help doctors, patients better prepare for surgery

A new tool using an artificial intelligence platform may help doctors better prepare patients for surgery. Mohammad Rahman, a Purdue University associate professor of management, and his team developed the tool to help improve health care outcomes. Rahman and his team have received a Phase I SBIR grant from the NSF to support their work. They are partnering with Parkview Hospital in Fort Wayne, Indiana, and Purdue’s Regenstrief Center for Healthcare Engineering. More

Purdue EMBA earns high marks for industry diversity

An International Business Times ranking of 70 U.S.-based EMBA programs names the Purdue EMBA program at the Krannert School of Management No. 1 for industry diversity, which measures the diversity of industries represented in a class. The ranking was conducted through “analysis of existing industry factors, college program brochures obtained from college reports, in addition to magazines, journals and online articles.” More

Lynall named director of the Burton D. Morgan Center for Entrepreneurship

Matthew Lynall, clinical professor in Purdue University’s Krannert School of Management, is the new Avrum and Joyce Gray Director of the Burton D. Morgan Center for Entrepreneurship. Since joining Purdue as a full-time faculty member in 2009, he has focused on developing educational programs and resources for faculty and graduate researchers across Purdue and the Midwest to commercialize their discoveries.
