Something Special

Krannert retiree Nanci Forney leaves lasting impact

Nanci ForneyNanci Forney, who retired from Purdue in May 2018 following 25 years of service, wanted her farewell year as director of recruitment for the School of Management’s undergraduate programs to end without fanfare.

Alumni and colleagues celebrated her nonetheless, presenting Forney with the Special Boilermaker Award during halftime of Purdue’s 2017 football game against Nebraska. The award was established by the Purdue Alumni Association in 1981 to recognize and honor special people who have contributed significantly to the improvement of the quality of life and the betterment of the education experience for a substantial number  of students.

She also was recognized with the establishment of the Nancy Forney Student Service and Leadership Award, which will be presented annually to an exemplary Krannert sophomore, junior or senior. The award garnered nearly 100 gifts totaling more than $9,000 on its debut during Purdue Day of Giving in April 2018. We invite you to add to those accolades and help support future Krannert undergrads by visiting giving.purdue. edu and following the links to make a gift in her honor.
