1990s, continued
Michael Hood, MSIA ’95, recently took a humanitarian trip with Christian Emergency Relief Teams (CERT) to a restricted area of Manu National Park in southern Peru, known for its biological diversity. His team helped at medical clinics along with six physicians and one nurse, plus six Peruvians; a dentist; a missionary and three of his sons, who served as translators; and a pastor, who maintained relationships in the jungle villages.
Nicholas C. Petruzzi, PhD ’95, was named chair of the Department of Supply Chain and Information Systems in the Penn State Smeal College of Business. Petruzzi’s current research interests include pricing models in supply chain management, stochastic inventory theory, the operations/marketing interface, and supply chain coordination. He comes to Smeal after 19 years as a faculty member at the University of Illinois, most recently as associate professor of business administration and Seass Faculty Fellow.
Dmitriy V. Chulkov, MSM ’99, PhD ’04, Moscow, Russia, received the Frederic Bachman Lieber Memorial Award, the oldest of Indiana University’s teaching awards. He is a professor of economics and management information systems at Indiana University.
Angie Hipsher, BSM ’99, Indianapolis, IN, has been promoted to principal in Risk Consulting services at Crowe Horwath LLP, one of the largest public accounting, consulting and technology firms in the United States.
K. Stephen Yoo, MSM ’99, is operations director at PECO Pallet in Irvington, NY.
2000s
Gary Zimmer, MBA ’01, was named vice president product development and engineering of Larson Boat Group in Little Falls, MN. Prior to joining Larson Boat Group, Zimmer worked for Brunswick Corp. He is a graduate of the U.S. Naval Academy, earning a BS in engineering and serving as a lieutenant in the Navy.
Gregg Harvey, MBA ’02, has been appointed vice president of finance and general manager at Wi2Wi Corp., a global developer and manufacturer of wireless connectivity solutions, high-precision frequency control devices, timing devices and microwave filter devices. Prior to joining Wi2Wi, Harvey was the chief financial officer of Precision Devices in Wisconsin.
David E. Gillis, BS ACCT ’03, MSM ’09, is senior financial analyst at JDA Software in Roswell, GA.
Michael Byers, MBA ’04, Brownsburg, IN, is president and CEO of Tooth Bank, which uses new technology that allows customers to harvest stem cells from the pulp inside baby teeth and extracted wisdom teeth, then culture, freeze and store them at a cryostorage facility for later use.
Gregory R. Conner, BSM ’05, Noblesville, IN, was selected as the Material Handling Institute (MHI) 2015 Outstanding Young Professional. He is part owner of Bastian Solutions, a leading material handling and automation-integration company headquartered in Indianapolis, IN.
Winston Crawford, MBA ’05, the former head of Apple’s mobile ad marketplace, has joined Drawbridge as its first chief operating officer. Crawford’s experience overseeing ads on iPhones and iPads lends credibility to Drawbridge’s business of monitoring users as they move between mobile devices. The four-year-old startup can detect when the same user logs onto the Web from a PC, tablet or smartphone, or purchases a product in a retail store, based on their browsing habits and other clues. Drawbridge then sells that information to marketers who want to show the same person ads on different devices and measure the ads’ effectiveness.
Micah Vincent, BSM ’05, is the new director of Indiana’s Office of Management and Budget.
Gregory C. Seeman, BSM ’06, works for Navistar Inc. at its Lisle, IL, location.
Subrahmaniam Tangirala, PhD ’06, and Vijaya Venkataramani, PhD ’08, are married and serve on the faculty at the University of Maryland. Both had papers published in a summer edition of the Journal of Applied Psychology.
Lukas Morawski, MBA ’09, wed Heather Schroder in June 2015. The groom is vice president of MP Tool and Engineering, a family-owned manufacturer in Roseville, MI.

Jon Drew, BSM’ 10, and Jason Saunders (HHS’10), Denver, CO, started Refined Exteriors, an exterior remodeling company. Refined Exteriors specializes in exterior renovations, including roofing, siding, windows, gutters, and painting for residential and commercial properties in the Denver Metro and surrounding areas.
Steve Hill, BSM ’10, is marketing manager at Beckman Coulter Inc. in Indianapolis, IN.
Sara Savu, BS ACCT ’10, is managing consultant, international tax services, with BKD LLP in Indianapolis, IN. She is a licensed CPA in both Indiana and Missouri.
Elandra Wurm, BSM ’11, is an SCM project specialist at Eaton Corp.
Rachel Hill, MBA ’13, Irving, TX, works at PepsiCo.
