Incoming master’s students listen attentively to the advice of Krannert alumnus Samuel Allen (BSIM ’75), who returned to campus in August as the school’s 2010 Distinguished Executive Lecturer. Allen’s loyalty to Purdue is matched only by his loyalty to John Deere & Co., where he’s spent his entire career. He joined the Fortune 500 company in 1975 and rose steadily through the ranks to become just the ninth CEO in the company‘s 173-year history in 2009.

Krannert hosted its second battalion of startup businesspeople in September through the Entrepreneurship Bootcamp for Veterans, a consortium of six schools offering experiential training in small-business management to veterans disabled post-9/11.
Following the same winning format as Krannert’s inaugural class in 2009, this year’s participants will enter the marketplace with a strong arsenal of entrepreneurial skills, sound business plans, and an established network of success.
