What is
I-Corps

Our Mission

Established in March 2015, the Purdue NSF I-CorpsTM Site aims to spur innovation, collaboration and economic impact from Purdue research. Supported by a grant from the National Science Foundation, the I-Corps Site provides programs and courses that educate, support and connect faculty and graduate students in science, technology, engineering, and management researchers to the customers and markets for their technologies and inventions.

Our Goals

Re-imagine Purdue’s innovation process from ideation to invention to commercialization, in order to enhance our regional and national competitiveness by leveraging our research in engineering, the sciences, and humanities.
Develop the technical leaders of tomorrow by providing them with the skills, network, and entrepreneurial mindset needed to pursue their future path with confidence.

A critical tenet of this re-invention involves spearheading a transformation of traditional university research. We encourage faculty, students, and staff to interface directly with potential stakeholders and users of their technology. From one-on-one mentoring in ideation to full de-risking and funding support, through NSF, the National Innovation Network, and the Midwest I-CorpsTM Node we have a nationally-recognized staff of instructors, trainers, mentors and other resources to help ensure successful transition of research from lab to market.
