John Hoffner

John Hoffner
Retired EVP and CFO, Jack in the Box Inc.

Mr. Hoffner retired from Jack in the Box as executive vice president and chief financial officer. He was previously executive vice president of administration and chief financial officer for Cost Plus Inc., a publicly held specialty retailer of casual home furnishings. He has more than 30 years of corporate finance experience, including senior level leadership experience directing finance, accounting, legal, Human Resources, real estate, and logistics functions. Mr. Hoffner began his career at Procter & Gamble and has worked for Federated Department Stores and Dayton Hudson Corp.
 
Following his retirement, Mr. Hoffner served on the board of Popeye’s Inc., a publicly-held restaurant chain with more than 2000 locations. He also taught business ethics at the college level, served on the boards of Junior Achievement of Los Angeles and San Diego, as well as two hospitals, and was a Finance Commissioner for the City of La Quinta, CA.
 
John and his wife Jeannie have established four scholarships at Purdue in appreciation of the positive influence Purdue has had on their lives. They met as sophomores and have now been married 52 years. They live in the San Diego area and have two sons and three grandchildren. John is a recipient of the Sagamore of the Wabash award, and is a Purdue Old Master and Krannert Distinguished Alumnus.
 
He holds a BS degree in industrial management computer science from Purdue and an MBA degree from Xavier University.
